Job summary

Benesch in Utah is seeking an experienced Roadway Project Engineer to join our expanding transportation practice. You will contribute to planning, design, and construction of public infrastructure, preparing plans, specs, and estimates, and mentoring technical staff.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, experience with UDOT or municipalities, and proficiency in Microstation and OpenRoads Designer. Utah PE license or ability to obtain is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or higher.
• Ability to work in a team on challenging projects.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Experience with UDOT and/or municipalities.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and ORD.
• Utah PE license or ability to obtain upon hire (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs of urban and rural roadways from preliminary to final design.
• Collaborate with communities and stakeholders to define data needs and outputs.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items.
• Support studies and alternative analysis to meet client goals.
• Work with reviewers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to proposal development.
• Manage small projects and assist project managers.
• Maintain project documentation.
