Job summary

Benesch is expanding its transportation practice in Utah and seeks a Roadway Project Engineer to design and manage transportation projects for public agencies. The role focuses on planning, design, and construction support for urban and rural roadways.

The ideal candidate will lead designs, coordinate with stakeholders, and mentor junior staff while delivering accurate plans, specs, and estimates in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or higher.
• Ability to work in a team on challenging projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with UDOT or municipalities.
• Proficient with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Utah PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs of urban and rural roadways from preliminary to final design.
• Collaborate with team members, communities, and stakeholders to define data needs and outputs.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items.
• Support studies and analyses to determine best solutions for compliance and client goals.
• mentor and supervise technical staff on assigned projects.
• Manage project documentation and assist Project Managers on large projects.
