Job summary

Benesch seeks a Roadway Project Engineer in Utah to join our transportation design team. The successful candidate will lead design efforts for municipal and state transportation projects, prepare plans, specs, and estimates, and mentor junior staff.

We value collaboration, strong communication, and a PE license in Utah or eligibility. This role offers flexibility within Utah and opportunities to contribute to diverse projects across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with UDOT and/or municipalities.
• Proficient with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
• Utah Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain upon hire (Preferred).
• Project experience in transportation engineering design (Preferred).
• Digital delivery and alternate delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs of urban and rural roadways from preliminary to final design.
• Collaborate with team members, communities, and stakeholders to define data needs and outputs.
• Prepare, review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid items.
• Support studies and analyses to meet compliance and client goals.
• Coordinate with disciplines to ensure complete, accurate deliverables.
• Contribute to proposal development and business development activities.
• Manage small projects and project tasks; assist Project Managers on larger projects.
• Maintain and organize project documentation.
