Job summary

Lob is seeking a Senior Manager, USPS Programs to lead USPS compliance, strategy, and promotions within a fast-growing direct mail technology company. The role collaborates closely with logistics, operations, sales, and product to optimize mail production and drive cost savings while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The candidate will monitor USPS rules, analyze trends, and engage with USPS and industry groups to shape policy and pricing in ways that benefit Lob and its customers.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in a USPS-related role within a direct mail, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
• Deep understanding of USPS rules, mail classification, and postal optimization strategies such as presort, commingling, and drop shipping.

Responsibilities

• USPS Compliance and Strategy: Act as USPS liaison with internal teams and USPS; stay current on regulations and rate structures to optimize cost and delivery speed.
• Data Analysis: Use data-driven insights to monitor mail efficiency and performance; track USPS trends and adjust strategies.
• Reporting: Develop reports on mailing performance, cost efficiency, and compliance; present findings to leadership.
• Lead end-to-end management of USPS promotions, coordinating with Product and Sales to maximize postage savings and customer participation.
• Vendor & Partner Relationships: Negotiate better rates and improve mailing workflows with internal stakeholders and USPS representatives; engage with Keep Us Posted and MTAC to stay informed on industry changes.
• Industry Involvement and Policy: Represent Lob with MTAC and related organizations; influence postal policy and pricing discussions for customer benefit.
• Postage Construction Influence: Work with Keep Us Posted to shape postage pricing structures and service offerings supporting Lob’s initiatives.
• Actionable Insights: Translate postal industry changes into actionable recommendations to improve efficiency and create new services.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to adopt new USPS products or technologies to enhance delivery and customer experience.
• Internal Training Programs: Educate teams on USPS policies and innovations to maintain compliance.
