Lob is transforming how businesses use direct mail with a modern logistics engine and a strong focus on USPS partnerships. We seek a Senior Manager, USPS Programs to lead compliance, strategy, and promotions across operations, product, and sales.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, cost savings, regulatory expertise, and industry collaboration with USPS and MTAC to drive scalable, compliant mail programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years in a USPS-related role within a direct mail, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
• Deep understanding of USPS rules, mail classification, and postal optimization strategies such as presort, commingling, and drop shipping.
• Familiarity with postal software (e.g., PostalOne!, Mail.dat, etc.) and relevant logistics platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically and troubleshoot complex mailing challenges, with a track record of finding innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• USPS Compliance and Strategy: Act as USPS liaison and work as the SME to internal personnel and the USPS contact.
• Stay current on USPS regulations, requirements, and postal rate structures, ensuring compliant mailings while optimizing for cost savings and delivery speed.
• Data-driven insights: Monitor mail efficiency, delivery performance, and identify areas for improvement; analyze USPS trends.
• Reporting: Develop and maintain reports on mailing performance, cost efficiency, and compliance for leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead end-to-end management of USPS promotions, coordinating cross-functional execution with Product and Sales.
• Vendor & Partner Relationships: Negotiate better rates and improve mailing workflows with USPS and other partners.
• Industry Voice: Represent the company’s interests within MTAC and affiliate USPS organizations.
• Postage Construction Influence: Work with Keep Us Posted to influence USPS pricing structures and service offerings.
• Actionable Insights: Translate postal changes into actionable recommendations.
• Internal Training Programs: Educate internal teams on USPS policies and best practices.
