Job summary

Lob is seeking a Senior Manager, USPS Programs to lead USPS compliance and drive cost-efficient mailing strategies. You will collaborate with logistics, operations, sales, and product teams to optimize mail production and delivery while navigating complex USPS regulations.

You will analyze trends, report performance, and influence postal policy through industry groups, shaping Lob’s direct mail programs and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a USPS-related role within direct mail, logistics, or manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Deep understanding of USPS rules, mail classification, and postal optimization strategies (presort, commingling, drop shipping).
• Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Proven problem-solving ability to troubleshoot mailing challenges with innovative solutions.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills across multiple projects and deadlines.
• Active involvement with industry associations (MTAC, NAPM, PostCom) a plus.

Responsibilities

• USPS Compliance and Strategy: act as USPS liaison and SME to internal teams and USPS.
• Data Analysis: use data-driven insights to monitor mail efficiency and delivery performance.
• Reporting: create reports on mailing performance, cost efficiency, and compliance; track USPS promotions.
• Lead end-to-end management of USPS promotions with Product and Sales teams.
• Vendor & Partner Relationships: negotiate rates and improve mailing workflows with USPS and partners.
• Industry Voice: represent Lob in MTAC and USPS conversations; influence postal policy.
• Postage Construction Influence: collaborate to influence USPS pricing and services.
• Actionable Insights: translate industry changes into recommendations to improve operations.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: lead adoption of new USPS products and technologies.
• Internal Training Programs: educate teams on policies and best practices.
