Job summary

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) seeks ushers for the 2024-2025 season. Positions are union, with weekly hours varying and scheduling based on performance calendars.

Ushers greet guests, scan tickets, escort patrons to seats, and assist with special requests and accommodations. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and strong guest-service skills, with weekend availability and a professional, friendly demeanor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Weekend availability is required; Sunday is a mandatory workday.
• Daytime and/or Open availability is a plus.
• Experience in guest/customer service or hotel/hospitality industry.
• Experience with guest accessibility or cash handling is a plus.
• Ability to anticipate and fulfill the needs and concerns of guests.
• Possess a friendly, engaging personality and professional demeanor.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Performance-based Ushers are needed for NJPAC 2024-2025 Season (weekly hours worked vary).

Ushers will be scheduled according to availability and performance calendar. This position is a Union job.

Responsibilities

• Must be friendly, polite and enthusiastic.
• Assist with special requests as needed.
• Assist patrons by scanning tickets, greeting and escorting patrons to their seats, distributing programs, and attending to guests with special needs
