A leading retailer seeks a manager in Montgomery, AL to lead teams through effective training and development. This role involves leading and developing teams through training, active listening, and providing feedback. Responsibilities include introducing and leading change efforts, setting clear expectations, and demonstrating exceptional customer service standards through the One Best Way (OBW) service model. The role also entails managing customer service initiatives, resolving customer issues, and developing action plans for improvement. Financial management, including reviewing profit and loss statements, budgeting, and controlling expenses, is essential. The manager will supervise and mentor associates, promote a culture of belonging, ensure compliance with policies, and uphold Walmart’s values. Additional duties include attracting and retaining talent, building strong relationships, acting with integrity, delivering results focused on customer needs, and driving continuous improvement. 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearm-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Additional requirements may include a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility for facilities selling only ammunition. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments.
Optional qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership via Live Better U and Bellevue University, a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, and experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
