Job description

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

  1. Leadership and Development: Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Tour stores, provide feedback, and communicate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduce and lead company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives effectively.
  2. Customer Service: Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manage and support customer service initiatives, such as store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved. Develop and implement action plans to address deficiencies and lead process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  3. Financial Performance: Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.
  4. Associate Supervision and Development: Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Set clear expectations, recognize achievements, and communicate consistently. Promote diversity and inclusion, and recruit and develop qualified staff to meet staffing needs and support company growth.
  5. Operational Activities: Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders. Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, set goals, build accountability, and measure progress. Identify improvement opportunities, demonstrate adaptability, and foster continuous learning.
  6. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the company's mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Implement related action plans, support the Open Door Policy, and guide staff in applying these principles in business practices.
  7. Culture and Values: Build high-performing teams that embrace diversity, create a workplace of belonging, and foster opportunities for all associates to thrive. Work collaboratively, build trusting relationships, and communicate with impact and positivity. Attract, retain, empower, and develop talent, recognizing contributions and accomplishments.
  8. Integrity and Community Engagement: Act with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance. Support and foster Walmart’s culture, including making a positive impact on associates, customers, and the community through initiatives like eliminating waste and participating in local giving.
  9. Customer Focus and Business Acumen: Deliver results with a customer-first approach, considering shopping behaviors and applying business models like EDLP and EDLC. Make data-driven decisions, balance priorities, and consider all stakeholders in planning.
  10. Continuous Improvement and Learning: Demonstrate curiosity, resilience, and a desire to learn. Drive continuous improvement by adopting new technologies and skills, encouraging others, and supporting change.

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • 2 years’ college, OR
  • 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience, OR
  • 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.

Additional requirements involve background checks for firearm-related positions and completion of required training.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Leadership or a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, along with experience supervising multiple direct reports.
