Position Summary...

This role involves leading and developing teams by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Responsibilities include communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. The position also requires introducing and leading company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and effectively communicating business objectives to teams.

The candidate must model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives, and ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved successfully. Developing and implementing action plans to address deficiencies and leading process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience are also essential.

Financial performance and sales of the designated store area are driven by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing budgets, forecasting, controlling expenses, and ensuring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Developing and executing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals are required.

The role includes providing supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognizing achievements, and fostering a sense of belonging in the workplace. Recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth is also part of the responsibilities.

Coordination and oversight of job-related activities involve developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, setting goals, building accountability, and promoting continuous learning and adaptability.

Ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting the company's mission, values, ethics, and integrity standards are crucial. This includes implementing related action plans, utilizing the Open Door Policy, and guiding others in applying these principles in business practices.

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25-$38.46 plus differential, with additional compensation through bonuses and possibly regional pay zones depending on location.

Minimum Qualifications...

Candidates should have:

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.

Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.

Preferred Qualifications...

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
