Job summary

WireCo seeks a US Training Manager - Operations & Production in Leawood, KS to design and oversee onboarding and workforce development across US operations. You will partner with Plant Managers, HR, Safety, and Quality to ensure effective training that keeps operations safe and reliable.

The role emphasizes the WireCo Business System values and requires experience building scalable training programs, cross-training pathways, and trainer enablement through train-the-trainer and LMS tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, or related field with 5+ years’ experience, or 8+ years in manufacturing training.
• Experience developing and implementing training, onboarding, or workforce capability programs in manufacturing.
• Experience working with production employees, frontline supervisors, and plant leadership.
• Strong understanding of adult learning, on-the-job training, and employee qualification processes.
• Ability to develop practical training tools, standard work, assessments, and qualification programs.
• Ability to drive global performance management processes.
• Influence leaders, drive change, and establish accountability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve a standardized onboarding framework (30-60-90 days).
• Establish clear learning milestones, proficiency expectations, and accountability at each stage (Day 1 through 90).
• Ensure onboarding includes safety, quality, operational processes, equipment, and performance expectations.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure onboarding standards are consistently executed.
• Establish mechanisms for feedback and continuous program improvements.
• Measure onboarding effectiveness through retention, time-to-proficiency, training completion, and feedback.
• Collaborate with HR and Operations to analyze turnover and design onboarding interventions.
• Develop and maintain training curricula, standard work, and qualification materials.
• Translate complex processes into clear learning tools; train-the-trainer across sites.
• Create pathways for employees to expand skills and careers; use hands-on, visual methods.
• Ensure training remains current with changes in processes, equipment, and standards.
• Deliver training in English and Spanish.
