Job summary

EY seeks a Tax Services Manager, US Payroll Operate, to lead end-to-end US payroll delivery with a strong emphasis on client satisfaction and operational excellence. You will oversee client onboarding, payroll processing, resource management, and KPI tracking in a dynamic, hybrid work setting.

This role requires extensive US payroll implementation experience, CPA/CPP, and proficiency with SAP/ADP/Paychex/Paylocity/MasterTax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and relevant post-graduate qualification, preferably in Sciences, MIS, Finance or Accounting
• 5-7 years of US payroll implementation; end to end payroll processing and payroll delivery management
• 10+ years of US payroll processing and compliance experience
• CPA and/or CPP is must; approved technical certification
• US Payroll implementation and project management experience
• Strong numbers acumen with Excel, MS Access, SQL or similar tools
• Experience in payroll integration with Workday, SAP HR, SuccessFactors or Oracle
• Excellent organizational skills with proactive problem solving and attention to detail
• Willingness to travel; balanced hybrid environment
• 60% in-person collaboration in client-serving roles across engagements

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end US payroll service delivery with focus on client satisfaction and operational excellence
• Oversee implementation of new clients and payroll processing activities
• Manage resources and monitor performance against KPIs
• Support project management of system enhancements and new service rollouts
• Develop next-generation payroll solutions and improve delivery tools
• Build relationships with clients and become their trusted advisor
• Train and mentor team to grow payroll knowledge
• Support business development and process improvements for payroll operations
• Define future processes post-Go-live and stabilization
• Raise red flags on delays during implementations
• Prepare SOPs and workflow documents for payroll processing
• Collaborate with other EY teams to provide seamless One-EY experience
• Support management discussions on practice development and engagement economics
• Identify opportunities to improve project delivery tools and templates
