Job summary

UFORCE is standing up its first US manufacturing site and seeks a People Operations Generalist to lead payroll, onboarding, and HR processes on the ground in a hybrid role based in Virginia or South Carolina.

You will own end-to-end payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensure compliance, and partner with a senior payroll specialist to implement site-specific workflows while aligning with global People policies.

Qualifications

• Independent, end-to-end ownership of US payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Strong US employment compliance and reporting: federal and state filings and wage-and-hour rules.
• Hands-on HRIS administration with data integrity and audit readiness.
• Experience standing up HR at a new or greenfield US site, or transitioning to in-house payroll.
• Manufacturing/industrial HR experience with a significant hourly population.
• Comfort acting as the sole on-site HR person and maintaining auditable records.

Responsibilities

• Complete payroll and timekeeping setup for the site with a senior payroll specialist.
• Independently run accurate, on-time payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including overtime and corrections.
• Prepare payroll reporting and support Finance through audit.
• Own recurring compliance reporting and filings (I-9, E-Verify, wage-and-hour, postings).
• Run onboarding in the HRIS, including benefits enrollment and orientation for hourly and salaried hires.
• Maintain HRIS and personnel files as an auditable system of record.
• Coordinate benefits vendors for enrollment, renewal, and ACA reporting.
• Manage training assignments and track completion.
• Act as day-to-day point of contact for HR/payroll queries onsite.
• Land global cycles locally—performance reviews, engagement surveys, communications.
