Unknown is seeking a People Operations & Recruiting Specialist to lead recruiting and payroll efforts for a growing manufacturing workforce. The role offers ownership over onboarding, benefits, and day-to-day employee support in a lean corporate team.

You will recruit hourly and production talent, manage payroll processing, and partner with leaders to align workforce needs with business goals. This position requires hands-on HR experience in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of hands-on HR experience.
• Experience owning or substantially supporting full-cycle recruiting.
• Direct payroll processing experience.
• Comfort recruiting for hourly, production, skilled labor, or high-volume workforces.
• Working knowledge of HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems.
• Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset in a fast-moving company.
• Ability to work with frontline employees to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own recruiting from initial need to offer and onboarding, focusing on hourly manufacturing roles.
• Build proactive candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill positions.
• Partner with managers to understand workforce needs and craft recruiting strategies.
• Source, screen, interview, and move candidates efficiently through hiring.
• Represent the company at job fairs and community events.
• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain payroll data and ensure compliance with employment laws.
• Address payroll questions and resolve discrepancies for employees.
• Coordinate onboarding and new-hire orientation.
• Support benefits enrollment and communications.
• Collaborate across a small, enterprise team.
