Job summary

Cologix is seeking a Payroll Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting organization, reporting to the Senior Operational Accounting Manager. You will review and process bi-weekly payroll for the U.S. and Canadian subsidiaries, manage Canadian ROEs, and support year-end reporting (W-2s, T4s, RL-1s, 1099s).

On non-payroll weeks you’ll assist the Accounting team. Key responsibilities include payroll accounting, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, as well as benefits updates and

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting or 5+ years of payroll accounting experience.
• 4 to 7 years of related experience with payroll, benefits, compliance, accounting and audit.
• Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and quality control concepts.
• Experience with Canadian payroll and vacation entitlements required.
• French speaking is a plus.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Bi-weekly payroll review, payroll accounting and compliance.
• Research and resolve issues; initiate corrective actions and adjustments.
• Coordinates maintenance of the Dayforce payroll system.
• Prepares general ledger transactions timely and accurately.
• Supports the annual 401(k) audit.
• Ensures annual benefits updates are implemented accurately and timely.
