Job summary

West Virginia University Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Professional with surgical urology expertise. The APP evaluates patients, coordinates education and psychosocial needs, and collaborates with a clinical team to plan and direct perioperative care and follow-up.

The role includes resident and student education, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and overall management of surgical urology patients across inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure; or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• First Assist privilege and RNFA certification required.
• BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at department discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for surgical urology patients.
• Completes daily rounds; consults and/or pre-procedure/surgical urology evaluations.
• Completes integrated assessments.
• Performs peri-operative management including 1st assisting in the operative suite.
• Orders tests or consults as deemed appropriate with clinical guidelines.
• Documents plan of care and coordinates discharge planning and follow-up.
