Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an Advance Practice Professional with advanced clinical-surgical urology expertise to evaluate and coordinate care from pre‑operative assessment through discharge and outpatient follow‑up.

You will collaborate with clinical teams, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, educate trainees, and contribute to system‑wide patient management with teaching responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in nursing for NP or PA; national certification required.
• Licensure or eligibility for RN/APRN in West Virginia for NP; WV licensure for PA.
• BLS; additional ACLS/WIS training as directed by department.
• Surgical/urology experience preferred for NP and PA.

Responsibilities

• Direct care for surgical urology patients in inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Perform pre‑op assessments, rounds, and post‑op care.
• Assist in peri‑operative management and in the operating suite.
• Order tests and referrals per guidelines; document findings.
• Coordinate discharge and follow‑up care; ensure appropriate services.
