Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• One year of urology experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and collect initial information and vital signs.
• Assist physician with exams, tests, and minor procedures; prepare sterile trays.
• Order, stock and maintain supplies for exam rooms; check expiration dates.
• Create patient charts; verify medical records and demographics.
• Schedule appointments and tests; pre-certify admissions and procedures; coordinate referrals.
• Perform general clerical duties and support clinic staff; answer phone calls about prescriptions and questions.
• Handle CPT and ICD-10 coding; review denied/ problem accounts weekly.
• Coordinate meetings and surgery schedule for physicians; liaise with regulatory agencies.
• Float to other clinics as needed.
