UrgentVet Hospitals in North Raleigh is seeking a Full-time Shift Lead to support outstanding patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast-paced urgent care clinic. You will lead shift activities, coordinate paraprofessionals, and partner with the Practice Manager and Lead DVM to communicate across teams and departments.

The ideal candidate has healthcare or veterinary experience, medical terminology knowledge, and some management exposure. On-site role with growth potential.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in healthcare, veterinary profession, or service-type industry required.
• Medical background with medical terminology training required.
• Associate degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred.
• Six months of prior experience in a management position strongly preferred.
• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership during each shift to support clients, coordinate paraprofessional staff, and maximize productivity.
• Direct, plan, coordinate, and perform duties concerned with animal health and client education to ensure consistent, quality care for patients.
• Partner with the Practice Manager and Lead DVM to ensure effective communication with clients, hospital team members, and Support Center departments.
• Assist with allocating cases to veterinary assistants and resolve bottlenecks in medical operations.
• Support client resolution decisions, invoice adjustments, and client experience exceptions.
