Job summary

UrgentVet Fort Mill is seeking a Full-Time Shift Lead to supervise veterinary care, lead teams, and ensure excellent client service in a fast-paced urgent care clinic. The role involves coordinating paraprofessionals, maintaining high standards of care, and supporting hospital leadership across shifts.

The ideal candidate has veterinary or healthcare experience, medical terminology training, and basic management exposure, with the ability to lift 40 lbs and work flexible hours, including

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in healthcare, veterinary profession, or service-type industry.
• Medical terminology training required.
• Associate degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred.
• Six months of prior experience in a management position strongly preferred.
• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across shifts to support clients, coordinate paraprofessional staff, and maximize productivity and profitability.
• Direct, plan, coordinate, and perform duties related to animal health and client education to ensure quality care.
• Ensure effective communication between staff, clients, hospital leadership, and support centers.
• Partner with Practice Manager and Lead DVM to maintain alignment with hospital goals and operations.
• Assist with assigning cases and addressing bottlenecks in medical operations.
