Job summary

MedStar Health Urgent Care in Lanham, MD is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform clinical imaging and support patient care within a fast-paced Urgent Care setting.

This role works under physician supervision, processes orders, captures diagnostic images, and ensures accurate documentation in the EMR. The technologist will handle equipment, venipuncture, basic labs, and patient safety, while upholding MedStar Health policies and patient-first care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Completion of an approved Radiologic Technologist program.
• Externship in a medical or ambulatory setting.
• 2 years of medical office experience preferred.
• ARRT certification required.
• Maryland, Virginia, or DC state license.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Code of Conduct and Compliance policies; maintains safety and infection control; prepares patient rooms and equipment.
• Manages patient flow and communicates with patients and families; performs testing and care per MedStar practices.
• Performs x-rays per provider orders and forwards images to radiologists for overreads; maintains equipment and safety.
• Provides care aligned to MedStar's mission and values; assists in discharge planning and patient education.
• Supports front desk activities and basic computer/patient intake skills as needed; administers medications as directed under supervision.

Education

Associate degree

Completion of an approved R.T. program

Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting

2 years of medical office experience (preferred)
