Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact, handling front-office tasks and patient check-in with professionalism.

You will verify insurance, collect payments, maintain patient records, and support clinic operations, while providing friendly service in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This full-time, on-site role includes 12-hour shifts and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Administrative Assistant certificate a plus
• 1+ year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
• Strong communication and attention to detail; ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Proficient computer skills; experience with EMR/EPIC preferred
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays
• Team-oriented, proactive, patient-focused service

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors with a positive attitude.
• Maintain confidentiality and organize patient and business documents.
• Verify health insurance benefits and provide patients with relevant policies and billing information.
• Determine and collect patient financial responsibility.
• Support the practice manager, providers, and staff for smooth daily operations.
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance in documentation and processes.
• Perform administrative duties and operate medical office equipment.
• Oversee quality assurance and patient result tracking.
• Travel to other Corewell Health Urgent Care locations as needed.
