Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care in Michigan is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support the front and clinical teams in a busy urgent care setting. The role focuses on patient history, vital signs, specimen collection, and ensuring smooth patient flow while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

We offer a starting wage of $18.00 per hour, plus a robust benefits package, annual bonuses based on performance, and opportunities for continuing education as the network grows.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role; OR equivalent education/certification.
• Preferred experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy.
• Ability to register patients on the computer with EMR systems.
• CPR certification is preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy for specimen collection if certified.
• Complete lab paperwork and enter results in EMR.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (strep, flu, glucose, pregnancy tests, urinalysis).
• Assist providers during exams and testing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and ensure clean examination rooms.
