Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking an Urgent Care Medical Assistant - Per Diem to support a fast-paced, paperless clinic. You will take vitals, room patients, assist with procedures and run point-of-care tests, while maintaining patient‑centered care.

The role involves admin duties at the front desk and potential DOT certification training. Availability to work weekdays, weekends and some holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification (willingness to obtain DOT certification).
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes; perform ear lavages and run EKGs.
• Conduct lab testing (urinalysis, pregnancy tests, glucose, rapid strep, flu, HIV).
• Manage front desk and receptionist duties as needed.
• Complete training and become certified with the DOT to perform urine drug screens and breath alcohol tests.
