Job summary

Carbon Health in Placentia, CA, is seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. You will handle vitals, patient intake, rooming, and assist with procedures in a fast-paced, paperless clinic.

The role involves administering medications, performing basic diagnostic tests, and managing front desk tasks. Prior MA experience and DOT/BLS certifications are valued, with flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Current BLS certification; willing to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years MA experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history, and triage.
• Assist with procedures (incision and drainage, wound care).
• Administer medications via intradermal, IM, subcutaneous routes; perform ear lavages; run EKGs.
• Conduct basic lab tests (urinalysis, pregnancy test, glucose, rapid tests).
• Manage front desk duties as needed.
• Complete training and obtain DOT certification for screens/tests.
