Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for urgent care to support providers in a fast-paced clinic and ensure timely, high-quality patient care. The role is per diem, hourly with 10-hour shifts (8:45 a.m.

– 7:15 p.m.) and a 30-minute lunch, requiring flexibility and strong clinical skills. You will greet and room patients, perform phlebotomy, injections, and EKGs, prepare exam rooms, document encounters in the medical record system, manage calls, and help coordinate patient flow to keep

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant or similar clinical support experience, preferably in urgent care or ambulatory settings.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and safe specimen handling.
• Proficiency in injections (vaccines/medications) per provider orders and protocols.
• Ability to perform quality EKGs with proper lead placement and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and EKGs per orders and protocols.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain infection control standards.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Manage medical records documentation for encounters and test results.
• Answer patient inquiries and route calls/messages professionally.
• Coordinate patient flow with staff to minimize wait times and optimize room usage.
• Support with point-of-care testing and proper specimen handling.
