Job summary

Carbon Health in San Francisco is seeking an Urgent Care Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced, paperless clinic on a per diem basis. In this role you will take vitals, room patients, assist with procedures and support a patient-centric team.

You will perform triage, administer medications, run EKGs, collect specimens, and help with front desk duties. A Medical Assistant certification and BLS are required, with DOT training possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (or eligible for exemption by law).
• Current BLS certification; willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes; perform EKGs.
• Conduct basic lab tests (urinalysis, pregnancy test, blood glucose, rapid tests).
• Manage front desk and receptionist duties as needed.
• Complete training for Department of Transportation urine drug screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
