Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for our urgent care/occupational health setting. Under supervision, you will assist with patient assessment, care, and education, while maintaining accurate EMR documentation and compliance with OSHA, CLIA, MIOSHA, and HIPAA guidelines.

You will perform patient prep, vital signs, in-office labs, and assist with procedures like EKG, TB testing, and specimen collection. Flexibility to travel to other urgent care sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully to internal and external customers.
• Computer skills, including basic knowledge of EMR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and/or family, take vital signs, obtain medical history, and prepare for examination.
• Accurately perform DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol testing per protocols.
• Document patient information in the medical record according to guidelines.
• Prepare and clean patient areas, set up equipment, sterilize instruments.
• Maintain a clean, sterile environment and assist with procedures as needed.
