Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient assessment, care coordination, and documentation under provider supervision. The role includes triaging calls, assisting with examinations, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining medication and supply inventories.

You will interact with patients, educate on prescriptions, and ensure continuity of care across departments. OSHA training and HIPAA compliance are required, with potential travel to satellite clinics.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from a medical assistant program.
• Preferred certifications such as CMA, RMA or CCMA.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with individuals and groups.
• Annual OSHA training is required.
• Knowledge of medical office policies and procedures.
• 3–5 years experience in health care system or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Triages all calls, schedules urgent/emergent add-ons, relays test results and coordinates consults/tests.
• Greets patients/family, performs routine pre-exam procedures and maintains accurate patient records.
• Assists provider with examinations and procedures.
• Prepares and cleans patient areas, sets up equipment, and sterilizes instruments.
• Orders supplies and medications and maintains documentation in EMR.
• Maintains documentation and coding in patient records; ensures HIPAA compliance.
