Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform patient assessments, vital signs, and routine pre-exam procedures under provider supervision. You will coordinate care, educate patients, and assist with procedures while maintaining accurate records and compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA.

You may also handle orders for supplies and medications, support billing and referrals, and train new staff as needed in a fast-paced office setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient and team communication.
• Annual OSHA training per Exposure Control Plan.
• Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures; experience in healthcare settings.
• 3–5 years of experience in the health care system or similar setting.
• Ability to wear PPE and work in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Triages calls, schedules urgent/add-on visits, relays test results and coordinates referrals.
• Performs routine pre-exam procedures including vital signs and chart updates; processes refills and allergy documentation.
• Assists providers with examinations and procedures.
• Maintains a clean patient area, sets up equipment, sterilizes instruments, and handles supplies.
