Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks. You will take patient history, record vital signs, and assist providers during exams and procedures to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires basic testing, phlebotomy, injections, and documentation, with a focus on HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Travel to care centers within the designated region may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in physician practice or clinic preferred.
• CPR certification required or maintained.
• Ability to function independently with good clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform basic testing and screenings (vision, audio, EKGs, etc.).
• Perform phlebotomy and collect lab samples.
• Administer injections and document procedures correctly.
• Conduct point-of-care tests (strep, urine, glucose, etc.).
• Dispense and document medications and treatments.
• Maintain sterile technique and equipment sterilization.
• Schedule records and coordinate ancillary care for patients.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and HIPAA compliance.
