Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support urgent care providers in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. You will greet and room patients, take vital signs and histories, prepare exam rooms, and assist with basic clinical procedures.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site Medical Assistant role is based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area and supports urgent care providers in delivering efficient, compassionate patient care. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with basic clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant helps manage medical records and documentation, performs administrative tasks such as scheduling and updating patient information, and supports smooth patient flow throughout the clinic. This role works closely with clinicians and other team members to maintain a safe environment, uphold infection control standards, and provide clear, respectful communication to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in Medical Assisting, including taking vital signs, patient histories, and supporting clinical procedures.
• Strong understanding of Medical Terminology to accurately document and communicate patient information.
• Experience working in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, registration, and front-desk workflows.
• Commitment to high-quality Patient Care, with the ability to provide support to individuals of diverse backgrounds and needs.
• Ability to manage and maintain accurate Medical Records in compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Relevant certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred; completion of an accredited medical assisting program strongly beneficial.
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
