Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care seeks a motivated Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced, team-oriented clinic. You will support clinicians with exams, vitals, and procedures while administering medications and handling specimen collection as needed.

The role includes front-desk duties when required, ensuring smooth patient flow, discharge processing, and accurate billing. EMR/EHR proficiency and compliance with safety protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program, or
• UNAPPROVED training plus National Certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA) through one of the listed bodies.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with exams, patient vitals, procedures and direct patient care under supervision.
• Administer medications per policy and direction; follow safety protocols.
• Perform blood draws and may collect urine samples for testing.
• Support front office reception when needed; manage patient flow and charges at discharge.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and maintain incident reporting and safety compliance.
