Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care seeks an energetic Medical Assistant to support both clinical and front office duties in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will assist providers with exams and patient vitals, administer medications per policy, perform specimen collection and basic lab tasks, manage EMR/EHR records, and help with patient flow, discharge procedures and billing at checkout.

Strong communication and customer service skills are essential to keep patients informed and comfortable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• National certification through CMA/AMT or CCMA is preferred or required if the training program is unaccredited.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams, including patient vitals and procedures.
• Administer medications per policy and safety guidelines.
• Perform blood draws and specimen collection as directed.
• Support front office duties: greet patients, manage patient flow and discharge processes.
• Proficiently use EMR/EHR systems to document visits and lab results.
• Maintain readiness for laboratory tasks and quality control as required.
