Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in Waco, Texas seeks a Medical Assistant to support both front office and clinical patient care. You will assist providers, take vitals, manage specimens, and perform basic procedures in a fast-paced urgent-care setting.

The role requires MA training completion and potential certification; prior EMR/EHR experience is preferred, with emphasis on patient service and teamwork in a high-access clinic.

Qualifications

• Completed an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• National Certification through CMA/CCMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent is required in some states.
• State-specific MA education requirements are met per location.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams and patient vitals under supervision.
• Administer medications per policy and provider directions.
• Perform blood draws and urine collection for tests.
• Assist with splinting, casting and sports physicals.
• Provide wound care, ear lavage and oxygen administration as needed.
• Maintain EMR/EHR documentation and ensure patient safety.
• Support front office duties like patient flow and discharge processing.
