Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completed an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• National CMA, RMA or CCMA certification if training is not accredited.
• Education verification may be required at time of offer.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams and patient care under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and provider direction.
• Performs blood draws as directed.
• May collect urine samples for testing, including employer drug screens.
• May perform splinting and casting.
• Conducts sports physicals and other urgent-care duties.
• Notifies provider of unusual patient events and safety concerns.
• Follows lab accreditation policies and EMR/EHR usage.
• Cross-trains for front office or back-office duties as needed.
• Analytical testing and quality control tasks in the laboratory setting.
• Maintains logs for COLA readiness and competency assessments.
• Documents proficiency testing and processes LIS data accurately.
• Reports critical values per protocol to attending physician.
