Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support exams, patient care, and front office duties in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will assist providers, manage vitals, draw blood, and process discharges while ensuring patient safety and compliant care.

The role requires completing an approved MA program or equivalent with appropriate certification and experience in EMR/EHR systems, and a team-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
• OR completion of an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) MA program AND national certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA).
• If no accredited program, evidence of 1 year/2000 hours supervised work as MA or verifiable related experience.
• Other MA education or experience may be reviewed by Compliance and Regulatory.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams and procedures and vital signs under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and may collect urine for testing.
• May perform splinting, casting, and sports physicals.
• Notifies provider of unusual patient events and safety concerns.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and clinic operations.
• Support front office reception when needed, including patient flow and discharge processing.
