Job summary

Banner Health Urgent Care in Arizona is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in patient exams, vitals, and procedures. The role requires flexibility to float between nearby urgent care clinics and to work various shifts, including weekends.

You will handle administrative duties and help ensure a smooth patient flow in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate has MA training, current MA certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant certification is required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by recording vital signs and chief complaints.
• Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures.
• Coordinate patient care including referrals, prescriptions, and scheduling.
• Provide clerical support for medical records and billing.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and sterilize equipment as per guidelines.
• Manage supplies and medication ordering for patient areas.
• Develop effective communication with patients and colleagues.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities, including simulations as needed.
• Interact with staff and providers to support patient care.
