Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and front-office operations in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will work with providers to manage patient flow, perform routine testing, and document care accurately in the medical record.

The role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent communication with patients and staff. Candidates should have at least 1 year of MA experience and current BLS certification; varied shifts include

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire (AHA/ARC).
• Certification within 12 months of hire may be considered for certain applicants.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination and document medical history accurately.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight).
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, UA, EKG, pregnancy) and report results.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies; monitor inventory.
• Support front desk duties, including phone management and patient communication.
• Complete opening/closing duties and end-of-day reconciliation.
• Perform equipment checks, quality control, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Follow clinical, safety, and organizational policies.
