Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and front-office operations in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will work closely with providers to ensure efficient patient flow and deliver a welcoming experience for every patient.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, at least 1 year of MA experience, and BLS certification at time of hire. Candidates should be available for a variety of shifts during daily hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at time of hire)

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographics, insurance and eligibility information
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling
• Prepare patients for examination and document in medical record
• Measure and record vital signs
• Perform point-of-care testing and report results
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis
• Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms; monitor inventory
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record system
• Support front desk responsibilities including phone management
• Conduct patient follow-up calls as needed
• Open/close duties including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation
• Perform equipment checks, quality control and troubleshooting
• Follow policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned
