Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and front desk operations in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will work with providers to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a welcoming patient experience.

Responsibilities include registering patients, collecting insurance and demographic data, taking vitals, performing point-of-care testing, drawing blood, managing exam rooms, and assisting with front desk tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at time of hire).
• Graduate of Medical Assisting program (preferred).
• Accepted certifications include CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA; applicable options listed in posting.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for exam and document vitals and history.
• Perform point-of-care testing and report results to providers.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for labs.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies.
• Support front desk duties and patient communication.
• Complete opening/closing duties and cash reconciliation.
