Job summary

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, seeks a Transportation Planning Supervisor for the Urban Mobility and Transit Planning Department within its Transportation Planning Business Unit. You will lead a team of planners, oversee projects, and coordinate with public sector clients across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field with 3 years of experience in a consulting business
• Associate degree in relevant engineering field with 5 years of experience in a consulting business
• If no degree, 7 years of relevant experience in a consulting business
• BS Civil Engineering degree (or higher) from an accredited university
• PE license
• PTOE
• Program Manager experience in the civil engineering consulting firm
• Previous supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Assigns work to staff and monitors workload; coordinates with other supervisors/DM as needed
• Completes administrative functions related to employees including approvals, evaluations, and pay recommendations
• Monitors and addresses staff performance
• Manages projects and provides technical oversight
• Reviews and approves project budgets and handles billing/invoicing for projects
• Coordinates, evaluates, and recommends staff training
• May negotiate and administer contracts
• Remains current on relevant technical and management issues
• Performs multimodal traffic analysis
• Develops conceptual and preliminary geometric designs, typical sections and cost estimates
• Conducts studies and designs for active transportation including bicycle lanes and trail networks
• Conducts studies and designs for transit including bus and rail improvements, micromobility priority and access to transit
• Conducts traffic studies such as TIS, warrants, parking, safety and calming
• Conducts safety studies including SS4A / Vision Zero
• Manages data compilation and analysis for mobility and socioeconomic data
• Leads long range transportation or modal plans
• Supports grant funding research and management; prepares technical reports and presentations
• Represents company at technical and public meetings
• Supports and leads business development and proposal efforts
