Job summary

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Transportation Planning Supervisor for our Urban Mobility and Transit Planning Department. The successful candidate will supervise staff, manage multimodal planning projects, and lead grant-related activities in a collaborative, public-facing environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field with 3 years of consulting experience, or an Associate degree with 5

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field and 3 years of relevant experience in a consulting business.
• Associate degree in relevant engineering field and 5 years of relevant experience in a consulting business.
• If no degree, seven years of relevant experience in a consulting business.

Responsibilities

• Assigns work to staff and monitors workload.
• Completes administrative functions related to employees including approvals and evaluations.
• Monitors staff performance and provide feedback.
• Manages projects and provides technical oversight.
• Review and approve project budgets and handle invoicing for projects.
• Coordinate, evaluate, and recommend staff training.
• May negotiate and administer contracts.
• Stay current on technical and management issues.
• Perform multimodal traffic analysis.
• Develop geometric designs, typical sections and cost estimates.
• Conduct studies for active transportation and transit improvements.
• Conduct traffic studies such as TIS, signal warrants, parking and safety studies.
• Support Safe Streets and Vision Zero initiatives.
• Compile and analyze mobility and socioeconomic data.
• Lead long-range transportation or modal plans.
• Support grant funding research, applications and management.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Represent the company at meetings and public events.
• Support business development and proposal efforts.
