Job summary

Michigan State University’s Upward Bound Program is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to support college readiness and postsecondary success for participating high school students. You will coordinate year-round activities, maintain records, and assist with federal grant reporting, while collaborating with families, schools, and university partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as education, counseling, or student development.
• Experience working with youth, especially in college access or TRIO programs is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and schools.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, organize data, and support program outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate academic-year and summer programming for Upward Bound.
• Provide academic and college-planning support to participants.
• Maintain student records and program data, and assist with grant reporting.
• Plan and implement Summer Academy activities, including curriculum and staffing.
• Lead or supervise staff and volunteers, including student employees.
• Support participants in FAFSA completion and college transition activities.
• Engage with schools and community partners to meet program goals.
