Job summary

Midland States Bank is hiring a Universal Banker Trainee to deliver excellent customer experiences, learn about products and services, and refer opportunities to meet performance goals set by the Banking Center Manager. Trainees show strong communication and become proficient at locating the right financial solutions through needs-based questioning.

The role involves deposits, cash handling, and building relationships with customers, with opportunities to travel for training and participate in

Qualifications

Sales and customer service background.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and transport coin and currency bags as required (bags may weigh between 25lbs and 50lbs).
Multilingual speakers are encouraged to apply.
Competencies include communication, collaboration and customer focus.

Responsibilities

Receive cash and checks for deposit, verifying amounts, endorsements and reviewing checks for possible fraud including holds.
Cashes checks for customers in accordance with bank policy.
Enters transactions into computer system and issues receipts.
Provides accurate customer service including balancing cash drawer to reduce teller differences.
Identify correct product types through needs-based questioning and refer business partners.
Actively participate in weekly huddles and coaching sessions.
