Job summary

First Mid Bank & Trust is seeking a customer service professional to deliver a high-quality banking experience at our branch location in Illinois. The role involves processing transactions, opening accounts, and providing product recommendations to customers to meet their financial needs.

You will be expected to greet customers, balance cash drawers, and adhere to all security, compliance, and operational policies. Opportunity exists for growth based on performance and company needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience in a financial institution preferred.
• Successful completion of required compliance and First Mid training curriculum. Advancement in this role will be based on management discretion.

Responsibilities

• Create a quality service experience by ensuring timely resolution to customer needs and overall customer satisfaction.
• Abides by company service standards, including greeting customers and making them feel welcome to First Mid Bank & Trust.
• Proficiently service customers by accepting and processing transactions with accuracy and efficiency within policy guidelines including deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and related transactions.
• Gain manager assistance with any suspicious transactions.
• Obtain management approval for transactions outside authorized limits.
• Adheres to all bank compliance, security and operational policies and procedures.
• Maintains a cash drawer by balancing daily, and assists with daily branch duties.
• Open accounts including checking, savings, safe deposit box, and basic business accounts.
• Performs changes to existing accounts as requested by the customer.
• Suggests process improvements to enhance customer experience and communicates ideas to management.
• May participate in bank promotions, external community events, and promotional activities.
• May be required to work in other First Mid Banking centers.
