Columbia Bank is seeking a Universal Banker I in Bensonhurst, NY to provide full range banking services to retail customers, handling both transactional and non-transactional activities at the branch.

The role emphasizes customer relationships, cross-selling products, and accurate record-keeping, with on-site training and a 40-hour work week, including alternating Saturdays when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or BA in Accounting/Business/Finance preferred.
• 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience required.
• Strong interpersonal and PC skills; excellent verbal and written communication.
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs.; weekends as needed.
• Mandatory training completion required.

Responsibilities

• Processes all banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cashing checks, money orders, gift and Bank checks, and loan payments.
• Opens new deposit and checking accounts and explains products; assists with account maintenance.
• Discusses financial needs with customers and cross-sells bank products; refers to other departments.
• Prepares daily proof sheet and assists with end-of-day closing procedures.
• Maintains accurate customer and account records and safe deposit box records.
• Makes referrals to Wealth Management and other bank departments as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
