Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Universal Banker to provide a full range of banking services to retail customers. You will handle both transactional and non-transactional tasks, explain online banking, and assist customers with their financial needs.

You will process deposits and withdrawals, open accounts, and cross-sell Bank products. This role requires weekend availability and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
• 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience required.
• Interpersonal, time management, organizational and PC skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work weekends as needed or scheduled.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Candidates must attend mandatory training; continued employment depends on passing training classes.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, checks, money orders, and other banking transactions via on-line terminals.
• Open new deposit and checking accounts; assist with documentation and safe deposit boxes.
• Discuss financial needs with customers; cross-sell products and services; refer to other departments as needed.
• Prepare daily proof sheet and assist with end-of-day closing procedures.
• Maintain accurate customer and account records; update safe deposit box records and branch files.
• Make referrals to Wealth Management, First Jersey Title, Mortgage Origination and other departments.
