Job summary

Columbia Bank in Brooklyn is seeking a Universal Banker I to provide a full range of banking services to retail customers, handling both transactional and non-transactional tasks and offering personal banking options while meeting branch goals. The role requires 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience, strong communication skills, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
• 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience required.
• Interpersonal, time management, organizational, and PC skills are a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work weekends as needed or scheduled.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs; training completion is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Processes all banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers and more.
• Opens new deposit and checking accounts and explains products to customers.
• Discusses financial needs and cross-sells bank products and services.
• Prepares daily branch close procedures and maintains records.
• Maintains accurate customer and account records and branch files.
• Makes referrals to Wealth Management and other departments as appropriate.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.
