Autumn Lake Healthcare / ProMedica East seeks a Unit Secretary to join our subacute team. You will support nursing staff, manage patient records, answer phones, relay messages, schedule, and perform data entry with confidentiality and professionalism.

Ideal candidates have prior Unit Secretary experience and familiarity with PCC Point Click Care. We offer a supportive, team-oriented environment, ongoing training, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Unit Secretary preferred.
• Long term care experience preferred.
• 1-3 months previous working experience, customer service.
• Legible penmanship.
• Knowledge of medical symbols, abbreviations, and terminology.
• Multi-line telephone operation.
• PCC Point Click Care experience.
• Fax, email capabilities.
• Answering phones, transfer calls, relay messages.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the nursing staff, including answering phones, transferring calls, and relaying messages.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records, including patient charts and medical records.
• Perform various clinical and non-clinical tasks as assigned by the nursing staff, including scheduling, filing, and data entry.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control standards and policies.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in a professional and respectful manner.
